Six levels

Begin where you are comfortable

The first level stays at the rail in waist-deep water. Each level after it asks a little more, and you move up when the instructor and you agree it feels easy, not on a calendar.

    Skills
    • Longer swims at an easy pace

    • Linking two strokes

    • Floating on the back to rest between lengths

    • Treading water with the instructor close

There is no level after this one; the instructor sets new goals with each swimmer every session.

Sample levels.

Every swimmer moves at their own pace. No children are in the pool during our classes.

Your pace

You decide when to move up

Each level has its own skills, and the instructor tells you what they see. There is no timetable. Some swimmers stay in a level for a session or two, and some come for the company; both are fine.

  • Stay as long as you like in any level

  • Ask the instructor to watch one skill again

  • Take a noodle or a kickboard when you want one

Not sure which level?

Book a placement visit and we will suggest one in the water.
