Policies
What to expect at the pool, in the water and on the deck.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
In the pool, and watching
An instructor is in the water or on the step beside every swimmer, and no children are in the pool during our classes. A friend or family member can watch from the bench by the pool door or from the deck. We ask that someone knows you are at the pool.
What to wear and bring
A swimsuit or a swim top, and a towel. Long swim tops and swim caps are welcome in every class. Goggles are up to you, and we have a few pairs to try. Please rinse in the shower before you get in.
When to stay home
Please stay home with a fever or a stomach bug, and tell us so we can offer a make-up class. If you are unsure, call us. We rinse the deck and the bench after every morning.
Closures for weather and holidays
We close with the college for holidays and tell you by text when the pool closes for weather or repairs. A class missed for a closure is made up within the same session.
Leaving the program
Tell us a week before the next session starts if you will not continue. If you need to stop partway through a session, call us and we will talk it through.
Phones at the pool
Please keep phones off the pool deck and away from the water's edge, and leave them in your bag or on the bench during class.
Friends and family on the deck
Friends and family are welcome to wait on the bench by the pool door. Please keep the deck clear and walk, never run.
Something we did not cover?
Call or write to us, and we will answer in plain words.
